Find the Best Job For You - Get your Personalized Career Guide tailored to match your personality, now included with the Core Values Index, just $49.95

We caught up with Adam Morris (Merchant/Builder), Co-Founder of SalesFirst Recruiting in Portland, Oregon, and asked him about his experience discovering the Core Values Index and the results SalesFirst Recruiting has achieved implementing it within their organization.

Q: What challenges have you faced with hiring and retention in the last year?

A: Recruiting can be extremely rewarding to the right person, and SalesFirst Recruiting can be somebody's home away from home—but if you aren't a good fit for the job, it can really wear on you no matter how much you like it. We actually find it harder to recruit internally than we do to recruit for our clients, because we are so selective.

Q: How did you hear about the Core Values Index and eRep?

A: I was at a BBQ with a friend who swore up and down that the CVI was the best assessment he had ever taken. I took it soon afterward and loved it! The rest is history.

Q: What differences in performance or morale have you noticed in employees that you hired using the eRep system compared to employees hired using traditional methods?

A: My recruiters who have "perfect" CVI scores effortlessly perform their duties. They are more consistent and the job seems to come easier to them. All my recruiters are really skilled in so many different ways, but I notice much more stability from my recruiters who score within our Top Performer Profile™.

Q: How has the CVI changed the way you view and/or interact with co-workers and clients?

A: I try to adapt to everyone's unique personality, and understanding their core values helps.

Q: Did you have an 'Ah ha!' moment after taking the CVI that really surprised you?

A: Well yeah… it nailed me. PERFECTLY.

Q: Finally, what would you want other people to know about the CVI?

A: It only takes 7 to 8 minutes to complete, so you get many more applicants and employees willing to take it. It's a low stress, low commitment assessment.
